The Hero's Journey is a well-known (and often used) story structure in novels, movies, and more. Joseph Campbell coined it in 1949. Essentially, the Hero’s Journey refers to a wide-ranging category of tales in which a character ventures out to get what they need, faces conflict, and ultimately triumphs over adversity. If you were to break down some of your favorite novels, it’s possible they follow the Hero’s Journey.

And now you can too!

W'e’ll tackle the Hero’s Journey using a certain movie and its adventure-seeking characters as our jumping-off point.
